Brief
Two floors, one concept for 60 units.
In the new building of the Munich coworking space WERK1, the brief was a furnishing concept for 60 co-living apartments across two floors – one that reflects the dynamic start-up spirit and the flexible rental model of the building.
Solution
Everything hangs on the wall rail.
Variand developed a flexible concept with large living walls, coat racks, coat hooks, decorative shelves and surfaces, integrated wall lighting and picture ledges. The kitchen walls were given shelves and magnetic rails. Every element hangs on the wall rails without tools and can be swapped out module by module. Four installers needed two days for the wall rails and one day for the furniture installation.
Result
Six days to move-in.
In less than a week, all 60 apartments were fully furnished and ready for use. Residents can personalise, rearrange and extend their units. In 2024 Variand received an award for this concept at the Coliving Awards.
